Wibble Wobble Event Guide: Befriend-a-Boss

Yo-kai Watch Befriend-a-Boss Guide

The Befriend-a-Boss Event's first appearance runs from August 31 to September 12. The first three bosses, Slimamander, SV Snaggerjag, and Sproink, can be befriended like a normal Yo-kai during the Event. Items to fuse each Boss with to form S Rank versions can now be pulled from the 3000 Y-Money Crank-a-Kai. This and much more has been introduced in the Befriend-a-Boss Event.

Befriending Bosses

Each Boss can be found on their respective Stage. Although they can not be fed Food to increase the chances of them being befriended, a similar effect can be gotten by achieving certain Scores. To make this easier, each Boss has a set of three Yo-kai that deal 50% more damage against them.

The best strategy for getting a high Score against a Boss is to use two Score Up Yo-kai such as Sgt. Burly and Elder Bloom, two Attack Up Yo-kai such as Siro and Beelzebold, and any offensive Yo-kai. The best offensive Yo-kai to use in this Event is either a Yo-kai with a 50% damage boost or Blandon, who deals high damage to single targets. An All Attacker such as Komashura will also work well. A second offensive Yo-kai can be used in place of a Score Upper, but no more than two offensive Yo-kai should be used if possible.

Befriending Slimamander

Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble Slimamander

Slimamander can be found on Stage 15, the final Stage of the first Map, Uptown Springdale. Due to his three heads each being separate targets, Soultimate Moves should be used outside of Fever Time to maximise damage. If an offensive Soultimate Move is used during Fever Time against Slimamander, about 66% of its damage will be negated since it will be split among Slimamander's single vulnerable eye and its two invincible ones.

Jibanyan S, Beetall, and Slimamander S deal 50% more damage to Slimamander. Since it may be difficult for players with low Soultimate Move Levels to reach the 200000 Point requirement to attain a God chance of befriending Slimamander, this damage increase can be useful when taken advantage of.

By filling the playing field with a Yo-kai Wib Wob with a high Attack stat, linking them all together, waiting until Fever Time is over, then using a Wib Wob popping Soultimate Move such as Jibanyan's Paws of Fury, any player can easily get a God level chance of befriending Slimamander. For best results, Score Up and Attack Up Soultimate Moves should be used before the Wib Wob popping one, with the Popper being the only offensive Yo-kai on the team.

Befriending SV Snaggerjag

Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble SV Snaggerjag

SV Snaggerjag can be found on Stage 35, the final Stage of the second Map, Mt. Wildwood. His attacks can remove all Big Wib Wobs from play, so quick and decisive play is a must for fighting against him. While Big Wib Wobs are typically defined as Wib Wobs that are Size 2 and above, only Wib Wobs Size 3 and above will be affected by SV Snaggerjag's attacks during this Event.

Komasan S, Venoct, and SV Snaggerjag S deal 50% more damage to Slimamander. SV Snaggerjag's Score requirement for a God chance of befriending him is 100000 Points higher than Slimamander's, making it essential for players with weaker teams to use these three Yo-kai if possible.

SV Snaggerjag's fight differs from Slimamander since there is only a single target on the field. This means Soultimate Moves should be used during Fever Time when possible, because all damage dealt during Fever Time is increased.

If Komasan S or SV Snaggerjag S are being used as the main offensive Yo-kai on a team and their Soultimate Move Level is less than four, a second offensive Yo-kai should be used. Otherwise, they will likely not deal enough damage on their own to justify being the only offensive Yo-kai on the team, even with the 50% damage increase. Komasan S's Soultimate should only be used during Fever Time if possible, since SV Snaggerjag will likely be defeated after the first of the two Spirit balls is popped.

Befriending Sproink

Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble Sproink

Sproink can be found on Stage 60, the final Stage of the third Map, Blossom Heights. The balls that can drop into the playing field can disrupt play, but at least four should be kept at all times for when they are needed at the end of the fight.

Kyubi, Blizzaria, and Sproink S deal 50% more damage to Sproink. A Score of 300000 or more is required to have a God chance of befriending Sproink, and although this is the same as SV Snaggerjag's requirement, reaching it will be slightly harder since attacking during Fever Time will result in a huge reduction in damage dealt. Kyubi or Blizzaria should be used if possible, but not Sproink S, since he is likely to not deal enough damage to reach a Score of 300000 or more.

Fighting Sproink is relatively easy, since he blocks most damage when his belly button is not exposed.. This gives a lot of time to charge up Soultimate Moves, since Sproink will not be accidentally killed in the process. The balls he drops into the playing field should be popped once all Soultimate Moves are ready to be used. Before attacking, these balls should be popped to allow his belly button should be targeted. Otherwise, very little damage will be dealt.

Soultimate Moves should never be used during Fever Time against Sproink, because half the damage dealt during Fever Time will be dealt to Sproink's face. It takes a small percentage of the damage a regular target would take, so Sproink's belly button should be targeted and attacked outside of Fever Time in order to reach an adequate Score.

Obtaining S Rank Bosses

Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble Befriend-a-Boss S Parts

Items called S Parts for each Boss Yo-kai have been added to the 3000 Y-Money Crank-a-Kai. They are all quite rare compared to regular Yo-kai in the Crank-a-Kai, but they each have a different rarity. Sproink S Parts are, by far, the most common of the three, with SV Snaggerjag S Parts being extremely rare and Slimamander S Parts' rarity being somewhat in the middle. Once S Parts have been obtained, they can be fused with their respective Befriend-a-Boss Yo-kai for 3000y to form an S Rank version of them.

Point Shop

Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble Befriend-a-Boss Point Shop

At the beginning of a fight against Slimamander, SV Snaggerjag, or Sproink, an Event Point Ball will appear. It will break after two taps and give a random amount of Event Points: 1, 2, 4, 8, 10, or 50, with higher values being more rare. There is also an extremely small chance of more Event Point Balls appearing after Wib Wobs are popped.

Event Points can be exchanged in the Event Point Exchange, which can be accessed by tapping the new icon in the lower right corner of the screen when navigating the Map. Event Points can be exchanged for up to five of each Befriend-a-Boss Yo-kai as well as Jibanyan (D), Komasan (D), and Frostina. Event Points can also be exchanged for one 5-Star Coin, up to three Mystery Coins, and up to five 1-Star Coins. An unlimited number of Spirit, Small Exporbs, and Medium Exporbs can also be obtained with Event Points.

The real attractions are the other limited Items that can be obtained with Event Points. 15 Large Exporbs, 5 Mega Exporbs, and 3 Holy Exporbs can all be acquired using Event Points. Although only one of each is available, a General's Spirit and a Soul Secrets are also up for grabs. The better Items are all pretty expensive, with the Soul Secrets being the priciest at 2000 Event Points. Frequent players will have something to look forward to no matter how much they have played during the Event.

Event Missions

Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble Befriend-a-Boss Event Missions

There are Event Missions for getting each S Rank Befriend-a-Boss Yo-kai to Soultimate Levels 2, 3, 4, and 5. Aside from Sproink's Soultimate Level 3 Event Mission rewarding a GHz Orb, the other low Level Event Missions do not give anything exciting.

Fortunately, this is the exact opposite for the Soultimate Level 4 and 5 Event Missions. The Soultimate Level 4 Event Mission rewards each give a Title that relates to its Yo-kai. Slimamander S's Event Mission gives the Title Slimey S, SV Snaggerjag S' gives the Title SV S, and Sproink S' gives the Title Hot Hog. Finally, all three Soultimate Level 5 Event Missions give a Soul Secrets.
